The Importance of Keeping Yahweh’s Sabbath Day Holy

As Hebrew Yisraelites from the Nation of Yahweh (N.O.Y.), we honor Yahweh’s command to keep His Sabbaths holy. Yahweh Ethical Society (Y.E.S.) encourages all Hebrew Mishpacahs to observe the weekly Sabbath as a sacred day of rest, worship, and renewal. Yahweh Ben Yahweh, our Messiah, calls us to dedicate this holy day to spiritual growth and family unity. Scriptures that remind us of its importance:

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."

"It is a sign between me and the children of Israel forever."

(Exodus 31:17; Exodus 20:8))

Let us honor Yahweh together, ensuring His commandments endure through every

generation with ONE GOD, ONE MIND, ONE LOVE & ONE ACTION!  Shalom!

THE  IMPORTANCE  OF OUR SHABBAT

Our Shabbat was designed and set in motion by our divine creator YAHWEH BEN YAHWEH, who is the son/sun. The son/sun determines the time. If we are in the wrong time, we won’t serve YAHWEH right. According to Exodus 31:13, YAHWEH says, when Israel keeps the true sabbath, it’s a sign between HIM and Israel throughout our generations.

YAHWEH BEN YAHWEH, who is our governor, ruler, and king, gave us HIS own calendar and HIS own perfect time. HE gave us the solar calendar to observe solar time. Also, our sabbaths rotate in perfection for every day of the week. It goes in a cycle of perfect sevens. Thus, it is established that we observe the seventh day as opposed to the seventh named day. For example, Last year, 2024 or 6028, the 7th day fell on Thursday at sundown and ended on Friday at sundown. This year, 2025 or 6029, the 7th day falls on Friday at sundown and ends on Saturday at sundown. And it will continue to rotate each year in perfect sevens forever.  The sabbath has scriptural references highlighting its purpose, observance, and meaning:

  1. A day of rest and holiness --  Genesis 2:2&3.

The sabbath is introduced as a day of rest and holiness, reflecting YAHWEH’s rest after creation.

      2. A commandment for Israel -- Exodus 20:8-11.

The sabbath is a day of rest, worship, and remembrance of YAHWEH’s creative work.

   3. A sign of  Our Covenant--  Exodus 31:16 -17

The sabbath is a perpetual covenant between YAHWEH and Israel.

   4.   A day of delight--Isaiah 58:13-14

The sabbath is a day of joy, reverence, and spiritual blessing

    5.  A day of remembrance---Deuteronomy 5:15

The sabbath is a day to reflect on YAHWEH’s work in bringing us out of bondage.

    6. YAHWEH BEN YAHWEH and the Sabbath--Mark 2:27-28

YAHWEH BEN YAHWEH reaffirms the purpose of the sabbath as a gift to us and emphasizes HIS authority over it.

     7.  A holy convocation--Leviticus 23:3

The sabbath is a time for worship and gathering as a community.   It is a reminder for Israel to seek YAHWEH’s face through worship and reflection of YAHWEH’s creative work.

And in doing so, YAHWEH will continue to be in our midst.
